New To Sedona & The Verde Valley?
There Chamber offers an online guide
Sycamore Canyon
A great alternative to Oak Creek Canyon
A protected canyon along Sycamore Creek that's home to hiking trails & diverse wildlife and two world-class swimming holes. A eight-mile paved and gravel road takes you to Parsons Trailhead parking lot. High clearance vehicles are recommended. This Redrock canyon is just slightly smaller than the famed Oak Creek Canyon, but not nearly as busy. The hike up the Parsons Trail is a pleasant stroll along a cool, clear desert stream set in a magnificent red rock canyon. The trail leads through the lower reaches of this wilderness through a riparian area rich in plant and animal life.

Sedona Vortex

Sedona vortexes are thought to be swirling centers of energy that are conducive to healing, meditation and self-exploration. Generally agreed is where the magnetic energy of the earth is closer to the surface. It can be seen in the twisted juniper trees growing above them and sometimes the energy you feel. The four best known Sedona vortexes are found at Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and Boynton Canyon—each radiating its own particular energy. Some are thought to produce energy flowing upward while at others the energy spirals downward, entering the earth.

These are places where the earth seems especially alive with energy. Many people feel inspired, recharged or uplifted after visiting a vortex. Although all of Sedona is considered to be a vortex, there are specific sites where the energy is more intense.
